THE BACK COVER BLURB
Two years will change them forever.
When rumors spread like wildfire—like having three-ways with her boyfriend’s rock climbing brother—Lily Calloway spirals into a dark place. Her bedroom. Loren Hale is more confident and determined to keep their sex life private, even from their friends, and he helps Lily in the only way he knows how. But how much love is too much?
Their lives are filmed, watched, and criticized. And through it all, Lily and Loren have to face enemies they never thought they’d see, demons they don’t know if they should bury, and setbacks they didn’t think they’d meet. Not this soon.
And one rumor could be too much for them to handle. It will test their greatest limitations, and if they don’t hold onto each other, someone is going to drown.
WHY IS THRIVE A #2.5 AND NOT BOOK #3? SHOULD YOU READ THRIVE OR SKIP IT?
We want to shout from the rooftops: Do not skip this book!
Before we wrote Thrive, our intentions for the "companion" novel were simple. We knew it would cover the same "time frame" as the Calloway Sisters spin-off series, and Thrive would exist for anyone who did not want to read the spin-off series.
However, Thrive became so much more. It's a book that is required to read if you have not read the Calloway Sisters books. And it his highly suggested to read if you've already read them. While it shows a few events that occur in Kiss the Sky & Hothouse Flower in Lily & Lo's POVs, the majority of the book is new material and we've woven a story that connects everything together in a way that should feel new but still familiar.
Also, Thrive is not a novella. It's a full-length novel that spans 2+ years, and it's largely ensemble, meaning it develops Lily & Lo and their relationships with everyone else. We contemplated for months whether we should call it #3, but then we'd have to change the title. So we kept it as #2.5 -- but if you're a fan of the series, hopefully you'll recognize how important this book is once you've flipped through the pages.
Thrive is also very character-driven. And for that reason, we feel like it's better suited to be called a #2.5 and not a #3. It skips some months at a time while lingering on others.
We can say with certainty that this is our favorite Lo & Lily book that we've written so far. We have shed more tears while typing Thrive than any other novel, and we've most definitely laughed out loud, courtesy of the entire cast of characters all in one room. Thrive is so special to us, and it's just now hitting us that we're going to send it off into the world soon. Krista and I have hourly long discussions at night, just talking about this book, about each character's transformations within these pages (*cue the waterworks*) and we're just really, really proud that this book is a part of the series and that we're able to give it to you.
I apologize for typing up an essay for you all to read. But this book is so important to Lo & Lily's journey, and I'd hate for anyone to skip it because we did wrong by mislabeling it in some way. So please, please remember that these years within Thrive are pivotal to Lo & Lily and their friendships with Ryke, Connor, Rose, and Daisy.
Thrive is almost here. Not so far away now. Thank you for reading all of this post ;) You deserve a slice of chocolate cake. *sending you a virtually piece of cake with extra sprinkles*
Hugs and kisses from us to you!
